These pictures and information on the children featured were donated by a Mrs Jo' Roberts (guest of Robins Reach B+B) formerly known as Joy Hall daughter of Mr Clifford Hall who was the Local butcher and had connections with the Baptist Chapel, the Hall family resided at Lilac cottage opposite Paul Feneleys house, 

"The school photo shows a young Roger Jordan looking very disgruntled, but I think he would have a good laugh about it now. Maybe his sister, sitting behind him, had been giving him a hard time! The people I can name are, starting from the left, third row: Diane Stapleton; Denise ?; unknown boy; sister of Pearl; Margaret Parker; Jackie Robbins (I think); unknown boy; Gillian Carter; Anne Parker. Next row down: Danny Smiley; Rosie(?) Smiley; Norma Stapleton; Betty Stringer (my cousin); unknown boy; Angela Jordan; Avril Cheshum. Bottom row: Sheila Stringer (my cousin); Geoffrey Carter; Christine Hall (my older sister); Roger Jordan. I was too young to be in that picture - I hadn't started school by then".

Of those, we used to play a lot with Diane and Norma Stapleton, and Margaret and Anne Parker, also the Jordans and of course our cousins. We later played with Dave and Paul Feneley all the time, and used to ride their horse Penny; I think they came to the village after that photo was taken".

"In the village fete photo, I can name: front row, from left: me; my sister, Christine; Bridget ?; Sheila Stringer; Jennifer Whitlock; Betty Stringer; Maureen Hall (another cousin - daughter of Stan); Geoffrey Carter. At the back, Danny Smiley; various unknown boys; unknown girl; Gillian Carter; Pearl ?; Joyce Stringer (my cousin); sister of Pearl".

In the cutting from the Beds Times, I can name, at the back: Avril Cheshum; Angela Jordan; Betty Stringer; Sheila Stringer. At the front: unknown girl; possibly Andy Banks; Bridget; our teacher; and me."
